Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard surfaces
A comeback Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has had a challenging year, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface after spring of the previous year.
Success also means he has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is particularly special," commented ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's retrieving strategy and regular outbursts on court had caused some to doubt if his ability to compete at the elite level was over.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.
The pair swapped break points in the following set before Moutet, striving for his first tour title, took control to create a decider.
Moutet saved four early-game chances in a competitive deciding set before the champion broke to fifteen to serve for the match.
Suitably, he secured the win with a shot at the net area, with his opponent failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
